The airport

I'm at the airport, trying to get home to my parents for Christmas. My flight got delayed by 30 minutes because of a flight attendant coming from Winnipeg. I'm really bored sitting here, and I'm not feeling very well - I hope it's just hot in here.

Im excited to see my sisters, who I haven't seen since LAST Christmas, and too finally meet my neice Clare! She just turned 3 months old 2 days ago. I got her a really cool present too... Well technically it's warm;)

Peace out, and merry christmas to all, and to all a good night!

At work

Here I am at work, on my lunch break, blogging on my iPod. Work is pretty slow, except for some customers who come in. My boss is off for the next two weeks though, so things will get more interesting then!

My camera came today! It was supposed to come right before christmas, but someone was nice and rushed it for me;)

I'm meeting with a couple tonight to talk about wedding photography, so hopefully I get it! I also started working yesterday at a pet store, part time. So far I
Have learned to scoop dead fish and record them:). It's pretty rad.

7 days to go! Imreally hoping we get a white Christmas at home, it looks like there is a good chance that there will be snow on the ground, and falling snow would be even better! Well wait and see though.

So excited!

So I just had an inkling to share...Only 10 more days until I get to meet my new neice!!! I am so excited, it's going to be great! Plus I get to see my sisters (and brother in law) again, it will be almost a year since I have seen them last! So much has changed, I have a new job, my little sister is in her 2nd year of college, my older sister had a baby, and its all great!

I will try to blog more, I know that I have been MIA for a while! Maybe I will post some pics soon too! I just ordered a "new" camera!

Anonymous

Going back through some old posts, I found this song, which I still think is the BEST song in the world.

I was looking through some photo's on facebook of some friends from Dordt, and I realized how much I miss them and how awesome those 4 years where. I went to Arizona a couple weeks ago for Jon Schmidts wedding (which was awesome), and I hung out with Jason Wyenberg and Jeremy & Laura Groeneweg. It was good times, but hanging out with dordt peeps always puts me in purgatory - a part of me wants to go back and rebuild friendships with people who are still there, but another part of me knows that it just won't ever be the same. But life continues, and I am sure I will have other good times (and I have since dordt)

About time

Well I guess its about time that I post again! I have been VERY busy, and over the last month and a half I have survived the following:

-Starting a new job

-House hunting with new roommates

-Finding an awesome house with said roommates

-Shooting a wedding in Kelowna, and driving down with Adrian, my roommate, for the weekend.

-having my computer crash right after geting back from Kelowna wedding

-Witnessing and celebrating Erin, my other roomate, getting married.

-Being the best man at Adrians wedding the week after Erin's

-Having 10 people stay at our place for Adrians wedding

-Having my parents here twice, once to visit before they went to Edmonton for my cousins wedding, and then again for Adrians wedding

-Making a 1 day trip to Edmonton to meet up with the family after my cousin Jon's wedding

-And of course, moving, cleaning, and packing!

Hence the reasons why I haven't been blogging much! But life is settling down now, getting back to normal, and I hope that I will have more time for things that I like to do now. I have 2 more weddings to shoot coming up, and hopefully a third!

new happenings

Well I got one of the things I asked for prayers for.......

A new job!!

I am now officially a Customer Service Representative at none other than CANON!! So far the job has been pretty mundane, but I think it will be a really great company to work for, and there are TONS of opportunities to move up! Right now it is only a 6 month contract to fill in for someone who is sick, so we will see what kind of plans the big guy up there has in the next 6 months!

Now I just need to nail down a place to live!

Thanks for your prayers, I appreciate them!

Prayers

Hey guys!

Wow I haven't posted for a long time! Sorry bout that!

Things have been going well for me lately, but I am also trying to make some changes. Your prayers would be appreciated as I will be trying to find a new place to live, potentially a new job, working with new clients, and also trying to get over things I have struggled with for a long time!

Muchos gracias!

I guess its time

I should probably right on this thing again, its been a while. Not much has been going on. I went up to Edmonton a few weeks ago to see Justin Croswell and my cousins, it was a really good time. Then this weekend Justin came down to see me. Good time again, but even better this time around. We watched Of Mice and Men, BBQ'd, went to a bar(?), and ate more (but better) food. We also talked, which was good.

Dana & Jon's pics are FINALLY done, for the most part! And my website will be up soon! Hooray! Things are coming together! Praise God

This is my favorite pic of the day. It's pretty somber, but I got to spend a few minutes with the newly married couple. I am really happy for them.

Over and out,
Mark

The littlest cupid revisited...

The Littlest Cupid:

This is the story of the littlest Cupid
He is small, he is cute,
And also quite stupid.

His first day on the job,
He saw me looking at you,
Like some love sick knob.

So with a smile he drew from his quiver,
Loaded his bow, took aim,
and then with a shiver,

He closed his eyes,
He drew and he fired,
His shot was perfect but to his surprise...

It ricocheted of a tree
Him him and he died!!!

Thanks Nola:)

A weekend a long time coming

Hello All

This weekend I have the honour of being the photographer for the wedding of 2 of my best friends, Dana & Jon. They asked me a long time ago, and while it has been a lot of time and effort to prepare (and it still is), I am really looking forward to the day. Hopefully things go amazing, the weather is supposed to be great, and that God calms both their nerves and allows them to enjoy the day they have worked so hard on. God Bless them both as their embark on their new lives together.

Well I guess I should post on this thing sometime eh? Just a quick update, because I need to go to bed, which I should have done a LONG time ago. I went to Bart & Lisa's in Pincher creek for christmas day, it was pretty great. I worked boxing day, and hten I went home from the night of the 26th to the 2nd. It was good, but no snow, as usual:( I LOVE snow. I hate the brown grass. Its crap. But home was fun, tracey and luke and angelina were there, and we went swimming, shopping, eating, and ping ponging. Good times. I wish our family wasn't so spread out. I hate the fact that I can only see them once or twice a year. Hopefulyl someday we will live closer.

Night!
